Seth Schiesel

Schiesel serves as Chief Communications Officer at EH Energy, where he leads communications and content strategy. Throughout his career, Seth has worked at the frontier of technology and business, making complex industries clear to the audiences that matter, from the deregulation of global telecommunications to the rise of AI.

Schiesel previously led editorial communications at Discord, the communications platform serving more than 200 million users, where he guided messaging on sensitive issues spanning AI, safety and privacy, and national security. Previously, as Director of Executive Communications for Microsoft Gaming (Xbox), he oversaw C-level communications and helped deliver the announcement of Microsoft's largest-ever acquisition, the purchase of Activision Blizzard.

Schiesel began his career in journalism, spending 16 years at The New York Times. As a business reporter, he covered the transformation of the global telecommunications industry (the great capital-intensive network buildout of its era) and the emergence of digital media and culture.

In addition to power, Seth's recent work centers on agentic AI, the technology now reshaping the global power landscape. He holds a B.A. from Yale University.
